Question:
"When am I ever going to use this?"
-My math class, in regards to trig identities

Answer:
I don't know, eternity's a long time. Maybe it'll come up.

Honestly, my teacher said that you never use the stuff you learn past Algebra unless you're going to be some type of engineer. The reason why they make kids still take math like Trig/Precalc and onwards is to just keep their brains in shape and functioning.
