The Truth Shall Set You Free

,What's this? A post without a logo update? Yep. Aren't you lucky.

It's monday night, and things are pretty good. They're not super happy great, but that's alright. They'll get better. They're improving already.

So, I've got three stories for you tonight. The last one is the really important one, but the others are good too. I don't have too much else to say, so I'm just gonna launch into story one.

So, it's 6:10 this morning, and my alarm goes off. I roll out of bed, turn it off, and think to myself, "Good crap, it's too early. I'm going back to bed." But then the more intelligent part of my brain kicks in and says "You're not going to bed until you've set your other alarm so you'll wake up in 10 minutes. Good thinking Christopher." So I set my alarm, and go back to bed. Sleep for 10 minutes, wake up to my other alarm. I roll out of bed, turn it off, and think to myself, "Good crap, it's too early. Too bad I can't go back to bed. I'm gonna sit in my comfy office chair for a few minutes, then get ready for practice." So, I sit in my comfy office chair, prop my legs up on Andrew's comfy office chair, thinking that there's no possible way that I could fall asleep like this, oh no. I'd be awake in 5 minutes, eating breakfast, getting ready to go run my heart out.

Well, despite my best efforts, I had a very nice nap with the office chair setup. You'd be surprised at how comfortable you can really make two office chairs. But moral of the story is, I totally fell asleep again. I slept for a good 30 minutes, and woke up to the clock downstairs chiming 7. I'm supposed to be at the school at 7 for practice. I look at the clock, and my heart sorta sinks. C'mon now, I don't want to be a slacker. I just slept way too late to make it to practice. There's no way I'll get there in time. I might as well just go back to bed, sleep in.

So, with my spirits low, I crawl in to bed. I look at the clock, and it says 7:03. I close my eyes, ready to wake up at 11.

But then, from the depths of my mind I remembered what Katie told me yesterday. Something about me being so motivated, she didn't know how I did it, etc. etc. I thought to myself, "Look at me now, missing practice cause I was stupid and slept in late. Booooooooo. I'm a slackerpants. Some action figure I am." And that thought didn't sit well with me. I was letting Katie down, being a slackerpants. Sure, time was against me, but that just wasn't good enough. The clock still said 7:03. I decided that good crap, I'm going to tear myself away from this pillow, and make it to practice before the team left. I knew I had at least a couple minutes, they always do warmups at the track before they leave. I figured I had about 10 minutes.

In great haste I jump out of bed for the third time that morning. I run around, trying to find my shorts, and eventually find them in the laundry room downstairs. I don't even bother changing out of the shirt I slept in, no time. I throw some shoes on, run in and wake mom and dad up to ask if I can take a car to the school. My mom wakes up with a snort, and I'm like "MomcanItakeacartocrosscountry??!" And she's like, "......Yeah..... take whatever's out there." So then I run in and I'm like "Andrew! Can I borrow your keys?" and he's like "......huh?" and I'm like "Andrew! I need to borrow your keys!" and he's like ".....ok......" So then I grab his keys, and I run downstairs, and I grab two fruitsnacks to stow in my socks, and I grab two bananas for breakfast. I throw one down my throat before I leave the door, and chuck the peel. I book it out there, hop in the car, and I'm like "It's go time." I was thinking to myself, if I had driving gloves, I'd put them on for this. So then I'm booking it over to the school, following the speedlimit almost. If anyone asks I couldn't convert the metrics to miles per hour fast enough. So I'm like Do do.... chkachkachakchak do do DO do.... DO do. Making the driving song, you know how it goes. Then I get to the light, and I'm like "Curses! A light!" But then I realized that it gave me a great opportunity to eat my second banana! Which I did, with great aplomb. So then the light turns green, and I'm like "VROOOM!" and I get to the parking lot, park, and run out there. I make it before the team leaves, and Coach is like "'mornin Thatcher." And I'm like " 'Morning coach, sorry I'm late."

And that was that. I totally made it to practice, even though by all means I shouldn't have. Practice was super super good though. Coach's assignment for us: "You're going to run for 90 minutes. 45 minutes out, 45 minutes back in. You need to run at a 6 and a half minute mile pace the whole way. Ok go."

So, as it was early morning, I couldn't quite do the math just yet. I had no idea what was going to happen. None of us had watches, so we just decided we were going to keep running and figure it out on the way. After about a mile, my brain finally figured out that if we really did what coach told us to do, we'd end up running 22.4 km, or 14 miles. That's a little more than half a marathon. So, I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I knew that I was really enjoying running fast. We weren't just plodding along, this was no distance run. This was supposed to be sorta fast. We weren't racing, but it felt great to get my legs moving to something other than the funeral pace. It might have been the adrenaline from having to rush to get there, but I was really really pumped up. I was just ready to go, nothing was going to stand in my way.

So, we made the decision that we were gonna run to gardner village and back. That would be about 14 km, 9 miles. That's definitely not the good 22 km we needed, but we figured it was a good enough start, and that anything more would be ridiculous. The whole time out there I was booking it, I wasn't sure what was going down. Everybody was telling me to slow down, save my energy. But no deal, I was ready to go. I knew that I wasn't quite thinking straight, I was way too hyper for my own good. I generally don't get too hyper on distance runs, but wow. I said Good morning to everybody we passed on the trail. I always say good morning, but this time I was super cheerful. I was yelling at people that were on other trails but that we could still see. I was just a machine. I ran fast, I wished people good morning, and It was just great.

So, we get out there, then come back. I didn't get to run as fast as I wanted to coming back, everybody was telling me to not be a dingus and slow down. I guess I finally started listening to them, even though I wanted to keep running. All in all, it was a super great practice, it felt great. My body thought it was clements. If I keep this up, maybe I'll do good.

But really, I'm proud of myself. I know that's a bad thing to say, makes me look like an egotistical windbag. But ya know what, I made it to practice this morning. I know that I made the right choice, even though I was about yay close to staying in bed. I mean, I was already there, I was totally justified. I had made the mistake of falling asleep, and now it was too late. But screw that idea. I'm getting up and going to practice. I did the right thing, and that makes me happy.

So, moral of the story is: Get up when you're supposed to, it saves you lots of trouble. Other moral of the story is: Don't give up, even if you're already 3 minutes late and you're in your pajamas.

So that was fun, I loved it. On to story 2:

Frisbee friday was raging fun. For the first time since Brad's departure, we had the really old generation show up. See, I've played with 3 generations during my frisbee career. The biggest generation was Andrew and Brad's, the ones that graduated last year. Some of them are still around, but most of them are filing off on missions. They've got skills, they're tight. Then, we've got our generation. The one consisting of me and kyle and levi and james and thadeus and shelton and Nick and Ninja and all those other stallions around here. Then, there's the oldschool generation. The generation that's been there, done that, and that are old. Brad's older sister Christina is one of them, and so is Booey. I'm not sure if that's how you spell his name, but he can throw a forehand the length of the field. They really are the oldschool though. They're a little older than all of us, and they're not in super athletic performance mode like alot of the guys we've got out there. It's funny though, because they've got all the technique and skill. You see these short old guys running around, throwing amazing throws, making great cuts. It's good times.

So, we've got 3 generations. They were all there in force on friday. At one point we had 26 people playing. We had to break into 4 teams, and do the cool tournament. We had two teams playing up to the side of the parking lot, and the other two playing down in the bowl. The two winners kept playing in the bowl, the losers had to play up top.

It was one of my favorite nights playing frisbee. We've always got problems picking captains. Nobody wants to be captains. We used to have a failproof way to get captains, but it doesn't work when there are newbies around, and since we've always got newbies these days, that has become worthless. So, we always fight over who shall be captain. I decided friday that what-the-heck, I'm going to volunteer to be captain. I know everybody there, I can bridge all three generations. I know who to pick to make a good team, sign me up.

See, I've got an advantage over the other people. Coming from the lowest generation, I know everybody. I've been playing with this same group for 2 or 3 years now. I know Booey, I know Christina. I know Brady and Andrew and Isaac. But most importantly, I know the rising generation, and nobody else does. I know Kyle and Shelton and Thadeus and Levi. Isaac has never even seen Thadeus before. So, using my crazy generation bridging skills, I decided that I'd get the ball rolling and be captain.

Throughout the evening we played 7 games. 4 of those were in the 4 team tournament. 2 of them were in the 3 team tournament. One was a warmup, and the other was the two super team match. I had to pick 4 seperate teams. I was always the last one to pick. When it was just two teams being picked, I took second pick. When it was all 4, I took 4th pick. I knew I was setting myself up for something good. Either we'd be victorious, and I'd sound pretty cool cause I volunteered for last pick, or we'd lose, and I'd look like a little cocky pansy because I thought I was tough and could still make it taking last pick.

Picking teams is always a challenge. It's a hard choice. You know how people play, but sometimes people have good nights, and sometimes people have bad nights. You know that certain people work really well together, and that other people can't stand to play with some guys. You know that if they pick this guy, you've gotta hurry and pick his little brother, because you can't pair those two up, they're unstoppable. You know if they pick little pappas, you've got to pick someone that can defend the raging cherry pick. It's all very political, and just intense. You always wanna make the best choice possible, and so you're careful. You know that one wrong pick might skew the game the wrong direction, and you're gonna get flattened. It's a stressful job.

Picking was tough, but I think I did well. I stuck to the rising generation alot more than I expected to. My plan was always to take speed and hustle over slower guys with more raw skill. Thadeus was usually on my team, and if I could get Levi or James I'd definitely spring for them too. Shawn Fairborn was always high on the priority list, so was little pappas. I went with a younger team all 4 times, but it definitely payed off.

Moral of the story is: We went undefeated for the night. 7-0. We weren't even the first pick. We were the last pick, and we totally took them down. Go go go rising generation, you show those old folks.

So really, Frisbee is just great, I love it so. We're playing thursday, 7:00 this week instead of friday. My brother's getting married, and it's hard to be at a reception and play frisbee at the same time. So things are moving to thursday. it's gonna be kicks.

Hey Goober, what are you doing? I just dont know

It looks like my guest writer has popped in. See, story number three is intense. So intense, in fact, that I don't remember about 80% of it. I was there for the whole of it, but I just don't remember it. Therefore, I've brought in an expert guest writer. Please welcome Andrew Thatcher.

Why hello little ones, please gather round for the story of the century.

It all started Saturday morning, our Mom came in and woke Christopher and I up and told us that we needed to take care of the lawn. It was eventually decided that Christopher would go out and mow and I would go and endge it and whatever else. So eventually Christopher goes out to mow at about noon.

Important to note is that I never ate breakfast before going out to mow. I had a piece of toast and some chocolate milk. I didn't do any insulin cause I figured I'd just work the carbs out mowing. So, I didn't officially have breakfast. I go out there and mow, it takes me about an hour, but I figure it looks pretty dang good. Andrew comes around to edge a little later. Once I'm done mowing, Dad says he's made us smoothies in his awesome blender. So hey, I go have a smoothie. Once again, I don't do any insulin cause I feel a little low.

So he eats his smoothy and while I'm working, all signs say that he crawled back in bed and fell asleep. So I work my tail off for about 3 hours or so then go up to the room, get on the computer check the news whatever and I look around and notice that Christopher isn't in his bed. I was a little confused, my brother had disappeared, so I ask Michael if he has seen him, and he says"I think he is sleeping." That was not very helpful, so I decided to go investigate. Once again I check and he isn't in his bed, so I go downstairs and check the front room counches, his next favorite place to vegitate.

Sure enough he is there, but he wasn't quite laying down, or sitting up on the couch, I would say he was at about a 30 degree angle with the couch, resting on his arm. Upon closer inspection I found that he had his hands clentched with his vial of insulin in one hand and his syringe in the other and he had a lot of fresh sweat all upon his shirt.

Now, Andrew's a smart kid, he nailed me on this one. I had in fact laid down to take a little nap when I had finished the lawn. I chilled in the bed for a bit, then something woke me up, I don't quite remember. I started talking to a few people online, then decided to test. So, I test my bloodsugar, and it says 216. That's alot higher than I want to be, and I'm like "Ok, I'm going to do two units of insulin to take me back down to where I want to be." Right at that moment, I started to get really hungry though, and I remembered how very little I had eaten. So, thinking fast, I'm like "Ok, I'll do 5 more units of insulin so I can have a bowl of cereal, then everything will be peachy." So, I pop in 7 units of insulin, then go lay on the couch to wait a minute before I go eat. According to the Doc, it's better to do a shot before you eat, it makes things work better. So, I was going to wait for my bloodsugar to get back down to where it needed to be, then eat. So, I lay on the couch to wile away the time. I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up knowing that my bloodsugar was very very low. I had slept alot longer than I expected to, and now all that insulin was getting to me. I propped myself up with the design of walking into the other room to get some food, but I never got that far. I never even sat up all the way.

So, he is sitting at 30 dgrees clenching his vial and needle and staring at the arm of the other couch. I wasn't sure how long he had been there, for all I knew he went in, did a shot and fell asleep right after he finished mowing the lawn. He did not respond to me entering the room, so I said "Hey budge, what's up." Surprise surprise he didn't respond, or move, or blink. I tried to talk to him a few more times but there was nothing. So I have been around diabetics long enough to put these signs together and figure out that he was low, really low. But I didn't know how to fix him, I knew he needed sugar, but I thought it better to get an expert in there. I turned my head and yelled up the stairs "Hey Michael! Come down here!"

To my surprise and delight Christopher actually responded to this one he scowled "Don't Yell!" With as much energy and hate as that little kid could handle.

Upon hearing my plea, Michael came down to see the freak show that I had advertised in my unwelcome yell. He sees the kid and says
"Hey buddy, what are you doing!" while shaking his shoulder. Apparently this was as bad as yelling because Christopher mustered his hate and energy and spoke again telling Michael "Don't touch me!"

Michael quickly went into the kitchen to get some pears, while I stayed int he frontroom tryin got keep Chritopher awake. I realized that touching him actually gets a response and lets me know he is alive, so I patted his shoulder and asked "you still there bud?" You guessed it, anger; "Don't touch me!"

Michael came back with the bottle of pears and a fork and put a pear up to Christopher's mouth and said
"eat". Chistopher responded with "I don't like pears"

Ok, you've got to understand that when your bloodsugar goes really low, alot of different things start happening in your body. First and foremost, your cells need that sugar and energy to function. When they don't have that for whatever reason, they sort of start to shut down. So mind you, I don't remember any of this up to this point. I might have briefly been awake for Andrew walking in to the room, but I don't remember yelling at him, or Michael touching me. My brain really was starting to shut down. The whole cognitive thought thing just wasn't there for me. The other thing that starts to happen when you get really low, is you get way emotional, and everything is irritating. Maybe it's because your brain is functioning less, but you're just an emotional basketcase. So, you throw out my brain, and the shell of me is just responding to stimuli. So, apparently I yelled at him. He shouldn't have yelled.

However, there are a few patches of this whole experience that I do remember. My brother Michael is a big kid. I remember propping myself up to the 30 degree angle, and the next thing I remember is Michael coming at me with a GIANT pear on a fork that he's trying to shove in my mouth. It's all a little fuzzy, but come now. You're sitting here, nearly dead, and you've got your big brother with a giant pear coming for you. So naturally, I tried to resist.

So he is sitting up and Michael is shoveling small pieces of pear into his mouth. Christopher is mumbling all sorts of random things and Michael says "It's funny when you are low you think that you are the boss and everything you say makes perfect sense" and he kept shoveling the pears that Christopher didn't like into his mouth with surprisingly little resistance. I went into the kitchen to check something then walk back into the front room to hear Michael say "Here comes the airplane" while waving a huge chunk of pear infront of Christopher. To my utter glee, Christopher in his dazed and bewildered state opened his mouth and moved his head around to follow the pear where 'er it moved despite his earlier protest.

I then dumped the excess juice from the pear bottle into a cup, got a straw and took it into Christopher. I stuck the straw to his closed lips and said
"suck it" he sure did start to suck. He was downing it until there was about a thrid left, then he grabs my hand and pulls it down so the straw isn't in the juice anymore, but he just keeps sucking. I fix it so he is getting his life giving sugar water and he finishes the rest of it.

I'm not sure why, but he then decided to start chewing on the straw. I went to pull it out of his mouth, but before I could he just clamped down and would not let go. By this time Nathan, our oldest brother had come in to see the freak show, and mocked his feble attempt to clasp the straw in his mouth by laughing and making jabs at his mental capacities.

Eventually I coaxed Christopher into opening his mouth and letting me take the straw out so he wouldn't try to swallow it, so that disaster was avoided.

So..... the pear juice was chunky. I remember that part. I didn't like the chunks. I have no recollection of anyone playing airplane with me. That whole block was a gap. I do very vividly remember chewing on that straw though. I had no idea why, but I knew that I was chewing on it. Good straw. Just keep in mind, my mind is out the window.

Nathan, being very helpful, went down stairs and got our big fan, because Christopher was sweaing and looked really hot. Nathan turned on the fan and pointed it at Christopher and said
"doesn't that feel better?" Turns out that it didn't. The mean little boy started yelling as much as he could telling him to turn it off because it was "uncomfortable"

After the fam ordeal, he was starting to get his mind back a bit and asked for a glucose tablet and said
"They are in the drawer under the droor where. . .where we. . .keep stuff"

Michael interpretted by saying
"they are in the bottom drawer"

I went to the kitchen looking in the bottom drawer and heard Christopher saying something about looking in a box and apparently some sort of insults to my intelligence

I found the fabled box and at the top found a tube of "liquid glucose" I took it in and was going to give it to him but he said "I don't want the liquid, I want the solid" He was a very honry patient, but I went in and dug deeper in the box until I found the five year expired glucose tablets.

Ooh ooh, I remember this part. I remembered how proud I was, cause I told andrew that the liquid glucose was gross cause it expired in '74. I was proud of myself cause I used numbers to insult him. I was getting a tiny bit of brain function back. I was still a little jerk, the sensitive part of me wasn't online yet, but I thought I was so cool cause I had used everything my brain had to explain exactly why that liquid glucose was bad. I was backing up arguments with reasoning here. This was a good sign.

Mind you the solid glucose tablets were older than the liquid ones, but as was explained before,
"when you are low, you are the boss, and everything you say is right" Anyway, I took the solid tablets in and Michael said "man, those are gross."

Christopher retorted "I like them, let me have them."

I decided not to let him hold them because I wasn't sure if he was sane yet, or how many he would eat, so I gave them to him one at a time at Michael's council and he chomped them right down. And within a few minutes he was back, still a little physically weak, but his mind was back, still a little beast, but at least the words made sense.

And that is the story of me saving Christopher's life, with the help of my associates, minus Nathan, the fan hindered the whole process.

Let's all give Andrew a round of applause for saving my life and helping write this post. Yay for Andrew.

So, there you have it. What happens when I do alot of insulin then don't eat anything? Bad things. I don't remember more than a few tiny little pieces of that whole story. When I was finally coming back, I had no idea that it was me sitting there. I knew what was going on, I knew that "I" was low, and that "I" was being helped by Andrew and Michael. I had no idea whether it was a dream, or a memory, or me just thinking of what might happen in a certain situation, or if it really was me sitting there. I didn't believe that it was me, it just didn't feel like it. As I started to get more into it though, I guess I finally accepted it, but it took a while.

All in all, funny experience, but sorta scary. We're all laughing about it, but had I been home alone, bad stuff could have happened. I really made a stupid choice with that nap. I'm not going to do that anymore. It's getting really late. I meant to write alot more about the questions and stuff it's brought up. Maybe next time.

The important thing is, I've got really great big brothers that are willing to play airplane with a really mean 16 year old that can't move his arms or legs. Did Andrew really save my life? I think so. It's funny how close that was. I mean, I could have gone a little bit longer without brain damage or whatever, but it was dangerous. Not to get all mushy or whatever, but I could have died. How lame is that? I always thought that death would be a choice. Like, I'd be sitting there, with this gaping wound in my chest, and I'd be able to hold on, because my mind and will power were so strong. I'd hold on to life, even though I shouldn't be able to. Yeah, none of that. For all my running, for all my frisbee, for how good of shape I like to think I'm in, it didn't do much for me on the couch. I was just there, muttering really mean things about Andrew. No choices, I didn't even know that it was me on the couch for a bit. So yeah, good times.

The important thing is, Andrew's a stallion, and that's not gonna happen again. So yeah, I'm a mindless zombie, so what? Have a nice evening everybody. Hooray for being alive.

More photoshop

I like the way this guy is standing alot more, and I really dig the sword and shield. The color scheme is 100% screwy, but nothing else was working. Moral of the story is: I'm not good at this whole photoshop business, but I've got alot of free time on my hands. Look at me go.

Double Psych

Yes, I've noticed that I didn't post that good post that I promised last night. But, i've got something even better for you.

Behold! The second generation!

I did that one in photoshop, based on my little MS paint sketch. The background is just a placeholder for now, and the text is going to be changed/moved/whatever'd.

The frisbee will definitely be changing, but circles are hard in photoshop.

However, I'm pretty dang proud of the little guy in the corner. Look at him go.

So there's the second iteration for you. Suggestions and whatnot'd be great. Anyways, that good post'll be coming soon. I'm even bringing in a guest writer. Score.

Maybe when you're older

This is the concept for the logo for the next year. Mind you, it's put together in MS paint, so it'll look better once I really get down to business on it. Important to notice is the positioning, that's how it's going to stay. Big disc behind, little short squat character off to the side. I want to keep the cartoonish feel to the character, but keep him looking cool. I might have interchangeable little guys to go in the corner, I don't know. But either way, that's the first computer concept, so there you go. More to come later.

In other news, this post is only here for two reasons. One is to showcase my mad paint skills, and the other is to keep you on your toes. There's a good post coming tomorrow, it's gonna detail the awesome frisbee we had last night, and the amazing adventure I had this afternoon.

But for now, enjoy the paint, and have a nice evening.

Necessary

I was playing around in photoshop, and ended up with that. Click to make it big, I sorta like it.

So, it's 9:56, way earlier than I ever start writing. But the fact is, there comes a point when you've just gotta do certain stuff. You can talk about it all you want, you can plan to do it, but when the time comes, you just gotta do it.

Tonight, I'm going to bed early. Oh snap. We all knew it'd have to come eventually. My sleep habits are terrible. I go to bed at 2 then expect to get up to run at 7. I come home and take a nap. It's just no good, I'm not gonna lie. Well, I tried that last night. Got to bed at 2:20, hoping to make it to practice at 7. My alarm got me up, I snoozed once, and after that it's a blur. I woke up at 10.

I hate missing practice, cause I feel like such a slacker. I don't really mind having things screwed up when I know it wasn't my fault. This time, it was 100% my fault. I can't pin the blame on anyone else, it was my bad guys, my bad. I messed up. So, that's the kick in the pants needed to get me to bed early. I've got to be at the school at 6 tomorrow to go run, so hey, I'm getting to bed early. Nobody's gonna stand in my way. This isn't like the last time I said I was going to bed early, a good 2 years ago. I remember, summer between 8th and 9th grade, I was so pooped from carpet, I was just ready to fall over and die. The plan was to go to bed super early, sleep forever. I told everyone about it, everyone knew not to even try to talk to me on messenger past 8 oclock, cause I was going to bed. So, 7:55 rolls around, I'm ready to go, I had even brushed my teeth. I'm about to shut down my computer, and who should log on but Tanya. Of course, this was during the heart of the Tanya era, so... I didn't get to bed for a while. Moral of the story is, you can't stop me. I'm not 14 any more. I'm raging, and I'm going to bed early.

I figured something out a while ago. I never really get anywhere. Destination wise, I haven't moved in ages. When I drive, if I'm the only one on the road, I'll go under the speed limit. I've got nowhere to go. Even if I'm late for CC practice, I'll take it nice and easy. When I run, I don't run anywhere. I always end up back in the same place. I can have an adventure or two on the way, but I'm never truly getting anywhere. And really, I'm alright with that. I'm pretty happy to just be out there, even if I'm not getting anywhere.

As for the speed limit issue, I'm alright. I don't need to be the first one there. I don't need to be the fastest guy on the road. I'm cool just chilling. I really don't like people that ride up on you, forcing you to go faster. Maybe they really do have somewhere to go, maybe them going 3 kph faster is gonna make their life a little better. But really, I doubt it. My heartrate is perfectly happy going slow, it's happy going fast too. I'm just a happy, content guy out there. So hey, slow down, enjoy life. It's not a race.

But if it was, you'd get the car trophy.

I've been giving alot of thought lately to specific heat. I'm not exactly sure why. It's an interesting property. We talked about it in physics quite extensively. For those of you not acquainted (not spelled right...) specific heat is the amount of energy needed to raise one kilogram of a substance one degree kelvin.

So basically, how much energy you've got to throw at something to get it to heat up. so, to heat one kg of water 5 degrees kelvin, you've got to throw 21 kj of energy at it.

Yay. so, why is this important? Why have I been thinking about it? Cause water has a really high specific heat. And Iron doesn't. Iron heats up and cools down without a fight. Water is a trooper. If you've gonna heat water up, you're gonna have to put your back in to it. On the other side of the coin, if you get iron hot, it'll cool down pretty easily. If you get water hot, it's going to heat everything around it up before it gets cool again.

So, are you going to be water, or are you going to be iron? Who am I gonna be? Am I gonna be a trooper, or am I gonna be a hippy that gets blown away when people stop wearing those rubber wrist bands.

I just like specific heat, that's all.

I think sweat is pretty good. My goal for this summer is to get one sweatring down to my belly button every day minus sundays. This week, I've gone 3/3. Last week was 5/6. I've only got 3 more days to pull it off. Friday is a given, considering we've got frisbee. Tomorrow ought to be easy, cause we've got a good cross country practice planned, and if that fails I can always play ultimate after summer seminary. Saturday is really the only wild card. We'll see, we'll see.

Ah, stuff is good. Today had a very rocky start, but it's turned up. It's been very humid today. I don't necessarily like that, but I can't do anything to stop it, so I'm gonna roll with it. The weather is going to come whether we predict it or not. I find that comforting. We can pour however much money into the system as we want, trying to figure out if it's going to rain or not, but in the end it's just gonna happen eventually. No matter how well we track the storm, we can't change what's really coming. That's pretty cool.

So yeah, I think I'm out of here. It's bed time. it's 10:22, and I'm gonna be in bed well before 11. It's been fun writing. I know this isn't one of my better posts, but it's too early to write well. I'm still proud of that little banner I put up there though. Hopefully there'll be more to come later. Sweet deal, I hope you're all doing well. Keep up the good work. If somebody'd please update their blog every once in a while, I'd absolutely love to have something to read. Alrighty, g'night folks.

The Quote of the Week

"
An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is an adventure wrongly considered."
-GK Chesterton

Wow, bet none of you saw that coming. You haven't seen pictures in ages. Well la de da, here they are.

I'm trying something out here, seeing how Writely works out for me. It's an experiment, if it sucks, I'll not do it anymore. If it doesn't suck, score it.

Now that the pictures and that jazz are out of the way, I wanna give Kudos where Kudos are deserved. Mind you, these aren't charity Kudos. These aren't "most improved" Kudos. Most people won't ever get kudos. I still love them, I just don't give them Kudos. These are the real deal. Here come the kudos.

Kudos #1: Glen the Techie:

Very few people have actually seen Glen the Techie. He only appears at the exact moment he is needed. He's not one to hang around and socialize. He's all secretive, but when the world needs him, he'll pop out, save the universe, then end the transmission. He's mysterious, but he's got the skills.

Glen the Techie was the man from downstairs whenever we played a TV game for nerds last year. He's like, KUED's tech man. I'm pretty sure he lived in his office, and he wore a cool baseball cap. This was about the same time I was embroiled in all the stage crew slavery for Sharpe, so I had great respect for tech men. Whenever there was a problem, or something wasn't working, he'd switch the transmission from whatever we were currently seeing on the little projector, to his face. I assume he was using a webcam or something. But he'd totally take over, and we'd see past his techie face, into his lair. It was a mess of awesome cords and other such cool stuff. He was upbeat, he had mad haxxor skills, and he wore a cool hat. I wanna invite him to a barbecue.

Angry Lady from washington: "There's a huge delay, something is lagging somewhere."
Glen (Cutting in): "I've traced the signal all the way from here to washington, and it's crystal clear and strong, the holdup is coming from your building."
Me: "Techie Glen OWNAGE!"

So, here's to you, Glen the Techie. We haven't forgotten the services rendered. Keep up the good work, you're an inspiration to us all. Maybe next time, when the world needs your help, we'll get a glimpse of your glory.

Kudos #2: Hai Ho

The Cross Country team's token asian. He's a trooper. He just doesn't stop. He hasn't been running for too long, but he just doesn't quit. He's ALWAYS there. Always ready. He's got the skills. To Hai Ho, kudos, hang in there.

Kudos #3: Ms. Ward

One of the best English teachers I've ever had, and I've had some good English teachers. She knows what she's doing. Sure, sometimes she looks like she needs a little medication, but she always gets us thinking. She really just knows her stuff. It's no guesswork. She knows exactly how to get me to do my best. She makes me want to write that paper, and to kick that paper's butt. No myspace for Ms. Ward. No relating to us. She doesn't wanna be a student, she just wants to kick butt. Guaranteed she can outrun me in a mile. Go go go Ms. Ward.

Kudos #4: Ms. Peck

Another English teacher, but she gets the award for the nerds, not for the English. What can you really say about a teacher who spends nearly every day after school with the nerd team? She gave that her all. She put up with us, and made us amazing. It was Peck, not Jason or Levi. Sure, Jason and Levi had skills, but c'mon, they didn't wear the same dress to every game. Peck did, and she kicked butt. You don't want to make Peck mad. You don't wanna dissappoint Peck. You don't wanna laugh during round two, she'll swear at you. Peck really was just amazing. You've got to understand, for the three years I was on the nerd team, she was always there. Always with us, every step of the way. At every nerd party, at every game. At nearly every practice. Then, you've gotta think, she's been doing this for ages. For countless years, she's always been there. Always making amazing teams, always being nice to the nerds, giving them a team to be with. Making Theron feel cool, making me feel smart. I learned more from the nerd team than from any other experience in school ever. She's been doing it forever. I don't know how many kids owe Peck that 36 on the ACT, that perfect score on the test 3 years later. Peck's been raising champions forever. So, here's to you Peck, thanks for the cookies.

I think that's all I've got for now. There'll be more to come, but not too many more. You don't wanna throw kudos around too much, they'll lose their value. You can't flood the market. If everybody has a million dollars, it won't mean anything, except that bread is gonna cost a whole lot more. If everybody got kudos, it wouldn't be special. It's supply and demand baby.

Alos, I haven't forgotten about the Paint contest. Voting will begin very soon. And I've already got another contest brewing, I'm even more excited for this one than for the paint. So stay tuned. Well, g'night all. Keep up the good work. Have a great 4th of July, yay for America.

Metal Greymon

It's been a week since I last wrote. Wow, that's crazy. It's not that I haven't had time to write, because I have. It's just that I've been lazy. This week has been interesting, I don't know quite how I feel about it. Lots of it has been great, and lots of it has been wasted. If I could go back and do it again, I'd do alot of stuff differently, but that's alright. Mainly, I'd wake up earlier, and actually accomplish something.

That's the problem with summer, it's that nobody is telling me what to do. On mondays/wednesdays/fridays I wake up and go to cross country practice at 7 in the morning. After a raging workout, I come home, and sleep till anywhere from 11 to 2. On tuesdays/thursdays, I sleep super late, and then don't do anything till it's time to go running at 8 in the evening. The real deal though, is that I wake up, and it's just me and Andrew at home. Andrew has been working on the DVD invitations the whole week, so he hasn't had much time to tell me what to do. Mom and Dad are at work, Steph is gone, Nathan and Michael are at work. I wake up, and I get to choose what I do. Unfortunately, I usually choose to waste the day.

However, I did get a little bit done. Monday we ran 14.4 kilometers. Tuesday I ran about 6.4, wednesday was probably around 8, thursday was none, Friday was frisbee, and saturday was no running. I read harry potter 6 in about 2 days, that was cool. I went to summer seminary on thursday, and that was way good. Summer seminary is great. You should all definitely come. You get a good spiritual lesson, and then you get to play frisbee afterwards (Assuming enough people stay). It really is cool, you should all come. Next time is Thursday, from 10 to 11. Be there, it's gonna be kicks.

But, back to not running thursday and saturday. First off, I'd like to point out that I have a problem with slackers. Slackers and me don't get along all that great. I figure that if you're going to do something, you might as well make it amazing. When I write a paper, I rarely write it to get it done, I write it to push the limits of that paper. I don't mean to push the limits of how well you can write a paper, but push the limits to what you can write about. I don't want to do the cookie-cutter topics, I want to be so creative ms. ward is knocked out of her socks. When I do stuff, I intend for it to be good. I want to be the best, I really do. I want to be the best at frisbee, I want to the fastest, I want to jump the highest, and throw the farthest. I want to be the valedictorian, I want to get a 36 on the ACT, I wanna get a 4.0. I'm not about the 3.9, I don't want the "almost" award. I'm not going to come and give it half my best.

Go big, or go home.

And that's why I'm ashamed of thursday and saturday. Thursday night rolled around, 7:30. Time to get ready for cross country. I'm sore, because we did a hard workout wednesday. I haven't accomplished anything all night, I'm in a bad mood. Eating dinner at 7:45, I need to hury and finish then get down to practice. My legs hurt, my glutes hurt, I don't want to adjust what I eat and my shot in order to not fall over when I run. I stay home.

Friday night rolls along, 2:40 AM. I look at the clock and realize that in 5 hours, I need to be out in front of the city building to get all ready to run a 5k. That's not alot of sleep. I hurt from frisbee, and I'm really low. I keep eating, but it won't come up, sigh. I'm not diabetic on friday nights, but I do a shot anyways, and I always go low because of it. I hurt, and I decide that I'm sleeping through the race.

2 times this week, I decided to be a slacker. I'm not proud of that. Where's the courage, the heart, the resolve to do my best? Why am I out there, if I'm gonna be a pansy and randomly sluff practice? I made a goal to go to every practice I could make it to. I missed it. I'm a slacker, and I'm not proud of that.

Moral of the story: Go big or go home. I came home today. Next week, I go big.

That's what's good about life. Next week just keeps on coming. There's always another practice to go to, another opportunity to prove myself not a slacker. Another really hard practice, another time to say "I hurt so much, but I'm gonna run anyways." Another day, another morning. Go time is always just a few steps away. It's always ready for you to take it. When the time comes, are you going to take it, or are you gonna leave it there for the next guy?

I missed it this week, next week I take it.

I went on a date tonight. Whoohoo! That was cool, good times indeed. I intend to go on many of them in the future. Score it.

Hmm, it's interesting how many people actually ended their yearbook messages with "score it."

So, this week I've thought alot about food. Mostly because there wasn't a ton of it readily available. No, it was available, it was just inaccessible.

See, in my brain it has begun to be called "Food Theory". Basically, all food is seperated into tiers.

Tier one food is ready to eat. You walk to the fridge, get it, and eat it. It's ready. It's string cheese, or a cookie, or a banana. No prep time, it's just go go go.

Then, you've got tier 1.5 food. It's tier one food with tricky packaging. You walk to the fridge, then spend a long time negotiating it into your mouth. For example, that turkey from Costco. Ultra thin slices, delicious, but definitely zip locked.

And then, there's the monumental leap up to tier 2 foods. This food requires minimal prep time, but it does require some. It may even need some assembly. One might have to add milk to cereal, or microwave a burrito. Still simple, but you must input work in order to output food. Tier two ladies and gentlemen.

Tier 3 requires instructions, even if they're little. If you have to check the packaging to find out how long you must heat it, it's tier 3. It requires knowledge, microwave prowess, and several steps. Mac and cheese, frozen pizza, whatever.

Tier 4 and 5 are scary. Tier 4 is stuff that in itself is nearly inedible, but after much arduous labor becomes food. What the crap are you going to do with a bottle of soy sauce? Pickles? That chunk of ham. The noodles, the whatever. The stuff you need to make a decent meal is generally tier 4.

Tier 5, is flour. It's just flour. It sits there, until you get a master craftsman who can change it into food. I don't know how they do it.

Mind you, I've had alot of time to think about food.

The problem with summer, and being home alone, is that there's not enough tier one through two foods around, and way too much 4 and 5. I'm not looking to cook a meal here folks, I'm looking to get in, eat, and get on with my life. I want a banana, but instead I've got a bucket full of rice. Rice, what is this?

So that's food theory. Yeah.

I do believe that I've found a solution to my waste of time woes. I hear that papa johns is hiring. This is good news. Monday morning, hopefully I'll go apply. Score it.

Also, for the umpteenth time, I'm gonna learn C++. Yay! I've started for reals twice. I've said I'd start at least 7. Honestly, I'm smart enough to learn it. I've got enough free time to learn it. I've got the resources available so that I could teach myself. It's go time everybody, it's go time.

Frisbee is moving along wonderfully. I'm improving my game alot, and everybody else is too. We're getting better. There is still a gaping hole where the old guard used to be. Brad is gone, and that means alot of the people he brought are gone too. Coach Farr and Christina don't come around anymore, and mama withers doesn't bring us half time cookies these days. Bouey is absent. Pretty soon, Andrew is off to Costa Rica, and Petey is off to Chile. The old guard is running away, and we're supposed to step up and fill the gap.

That's a big task. I can't be brad, that's crazy talk. He can run jump throw catch defend swat cherry pick dominate. Me, I just talk big.

So, frisbee isn't what it used to be. I don't go every week and be amazed. It's harder, it's lower quality, I'm not going to lie.

Is it still amazing? Heck yes.

We're getting there, we're getting there. In two and a half years, we're having a reunion game. The summer after we graduate, it's going to be old guard stand. It'll be fun to see. In two years time, can we get there? We've got alot to live up to, they're like legends to me. Either way, we're going to have a fun two years trying to get good enough to take them down.

It's a constant cycle really. It's been going on forever. The whole frisbee bit. This might be the biggest it's ever been, but probably not. People have been playing all through high school, then going on missions, leaving the newbies to watch the field. It's been happening for ages, and it'll continue to happen. What'll happen when the old guard comes back? By that time, we hope that there'll be a real rec league to play in. If there's not one by the time I get back, I'm writing some angry letters.

But, tangents aside, frisbee is coming along. Things look good for the club. I had some discussions with some people this week about what direction we want to go with it. Do we want to make it more exclusive, let fewer people in, and just be super high quality? Or do we want to let everybody in, and teach everybody how to play, and bring everybody up together? Both have their pros and cons.

With the fewer people, higher quality, things would be much easier. It's not hard to get 14 people to forehand. We could get super super good really fast. We could always have one game, with the same people, and a few subs. It'd be golden. But, then we'd leave people out, we wouldn't make frisbee huge, we'd just make it great.

With more people, you get a bunch of people that wouldn't otherwise play to come out, run around a bit, improve some skills. It's alot harder, and when you want to play, you've gotta have two games or something. It's hard to manage, but it makes it so you'll never be short on people to play a game with.

I really lean more towards letting everybody in. I want to teach everyone how to play, I want to give them skills that'll be useful for life. I want to get people so good, that when they're off at college, someone will fall in love with them because they're amazing at frisbee. I'll get a wedding invitation in the mail, and they'll have written on there: "You made it happen, you made it happen."

But, that plan has its critics. I call them Levi.

So what do you think? Comments would be great.

Hmm, life is good. I'm going to learn to program. One day, snake is going to fly. Haha, laugh all you want, one day. I don't know how, but one day. If I have to be rich, and hire someone to do it when I'm 80, I will. It'll happen. You just wait and see.

So, I intend to update this more. To tell the truth, I could post once a day, and I doubt I'd lose any real traffic. That was my fear, if I posted too much everybody'd be like "Whoa, too much to read, I'm out of here." But, after tracking my site heavily with Google Analytics, I figure I wouldn't lose too much. So maybe I will post more. Then again, maybe I won't.

However, I will promise at least one post a week. Even if it's worthless, it'll be there. This week was a slow week for blogs all around, but things are going to get better.

Ya know, I really want a digital camera. I love pictures, they're so powerful. When you get pictures and music together right, they're unstoppable. Anyways, picture of the week is coming soon. Score it.

So, review:

1)I'm ashamed of sluffing cross country
2)Lucky for me, go time comes around next week too.
3)Therefore, next week, I go.
4)Food theory. Tier one foods are heaven, tier 4 and 5 make me sad unless mom or james is around.
5)I'm going to learn C++
6)Frisbee is good, but old guys are leaving
7)One day, we're going to be the old guys. We better be good
8)Which to choose? A small elite frisbee club, or a big happy frisbee club? I say big, levi says small. What say ye?
9)come to summer seminary, thursday, 10 to 11.
10) I'ma update more. You should all do the same.

Alrighty, life is dandy. Work hard guys. I'm gonna work hard. I'm going to be faster than I have ever been during my whole life. Tomorrow, I'm going to be smarter than I've ever been before. Right now, I'm the best I've ever been. I've run more miles right now than ever before. My cumulative knowledge at this point is greater than at any other point in my life. If these trends continue, I'm going to be one fast fellow come track season.

Wow, writing always makes me happy. There's just something about it. Oh snap! I almost forgot something.

You know how all robots are made with a purpose? Sunny from I, Robot was made with tougher alloy so he could get the microbes to kill the bad guys. Guilty spark from Halo was made to operate the halo thingy. All solitary robots have a purpose. If you were to happen upon a space station and find a solitary robot, you better believe he's there for a reason. He was placed there for a very specific task. He's there for something, and you know it. Because you don't just put a robot on a hidden space station for no reason. You put him there to guard something, to do something. He's been waiting there for thousands of years for you to chance upon the hidden station and walk through that airlock. He's ready for you, waiting for you. With his help, you've gotta save the universe. That's just how it goes. There are no solitary robots on hidden outposts that don't have a purpose.

But what if you found one? What if you found the one, the single robot that was hidden on a space station without a purpose. What if you found the one that wasn't hiding the secret, wasn't there to help you save the universe. What if he was just there? How would that feel? There's always a reason for robots, but what if this one was the one that didn't quite have a purpose?

Where is this going? Is this some sort of parallel to life? No. I thought of it sometime during the week, in relation to someone I was talking with, someone that always makes me wonder about everything. I don't really remember why it came up. It was a parallel to something, I don't know what. Am I the robot without the purpose, or were they? I don't know.

For some reason though, it's significant. I don't know why, but it's significant. For some reason out there, to someone, there is one unique robot that isn't hiding the death ray. He's not the guardian to make sure you don't release the flood. He's not there to tell you the secret password to beat the evil snake lady. Somewhere out there, waiting for you or me is a robot. Calmly sitting, ready to say Hello. Why he's there, nobody knows. Why he's there, there's no reason. He's just there, waiting for us.

Not sure where that all came from. But it's significant I guess. Score it?

So howdy hey, I think it's bed time. I'm excited for tomorrow though, I love church.

So now I'm out of here, but I leave you with this. Make tomorrow better than today. Yeah, this week I sucked. I sucked as a runner, and I sucked at getting stuff done. Tomorrow comes, and I'm going to be better than I was today. I'm gonna run faster, harder, longer. I'm gonna wake up earlier. I'm gonna do something with my life. Tomorrow comes, what are you going to make of it?

Stray Mulch

Mmmm. I like today, it was pretty nice. The temperature was nice, the sunlight was super cool, the wind was blowing, and things were just dandy. It was a really nice day, pretty peaceful. I should have taken a picture.

This post has been in the works for a very long time, so it might end up pretty long. There's a ton of stuff that I've thought of this past week that I wanted to include, but since I didn't write it down, alot will be forgotten. That's alright though, I hope that the good stuff will stay.

Friday's cross country practice was super super cool. We decided to do some cross training, so we did our workout in the pool. I really enjoyed it, even though I swim like crap. Honestly, I never really learned how. I've got no skills, but at least I tried hard. We played some pool-basketball when the hard work was done, and my team got thoroughly owned by kirt/kurt/kert/whatever. That boy's got skills I tell ya. Moral of the story is, cross country is going well. Hansen knows what he's doing, and I think the team is going to be good. We're still very very short, we need more people. I don't think that's going to happen, so we'll just have to focus on making the people we've got into crazy running machines. We'll get there. I'm tired of having us be the region II whippingboys.

We had a scout camp last night, that was cool. I really like scout camps, up until the point where you've got to make the kids start working on something. It's fun to hang out with them, they're pretty funny guys. I'm a ton older than all of them, so they think I'm cool, it's great. We went out to antelope island for a bit, but since we couldn't get a reservation we ended up sleeping in my backyard. But really, it was good times, alot of fun. Antelope island was super beautiful, way awesome. My arm is sore from skipping rocks, I finally succeeded. I had never ever been able to skip rocks before yesterday, but I was kicking their butts. It was pro, I had 7 or 8 bounces sometimes. Whoosh, I love gyroscopic intertia.

Anyways, scout camp is really fun until you tell them to do something. Then it's frustrating, cause they're not very good at tents, or service, or listening, or gathering around, or doing whatever it is you need them to do. Yay for a whole generation of ADD children.

I washed the van today. I spent about an hour on it, because I'm not too efficient. I'm not good at washing cars, but I enjoyed it. I was home alone, so I popped my speakers from the computer up on the windowsill and played some music while I washed. I worked pretty hard on it, washing and whatnot.

Yeah, in the end, it's still ugly. It just has less bugs on it. Despite my washing, it's an ugly van, but I love it anyways.

Has anyone else noticed that technology doesn't ever happen as fast as people say it will? By all means, it could, but it doesn't. Why is my car not running on hydrogen? Why do I still do dishes? Why do I still get a cold? Why is the PA system at taylorsville still hard to hear?

Stuff doesn't happen as fast as people say it will. Nobody really knows why. Sometimes it's funding, sometimes it's just the fact that people aren't willing to take a chance on it. Sometimes old stuff is so engrained in people that changing to DVD means work, and that's way too hard.

See, progress shouldn't be stopped by this stuff, should it? When we think of killer alien civilizations coming to kick out butts, we don't think that they have inferior style death lasers because the government keeps giving the weapons contract to the same people who have had it for hundreds of years. We expect state of the art kill-rays, cutting edge destruction, provided by their best and brightest. We don't expect politics to get in the way of their war machine.

But here we are, and the same stuff is happening. If the aliens don't do it, why should we? It's cause we're old school, because we're not entirely focused on progress, we're focused on other such fun stuff.

Case in point: Where the crap are my metrics?

When the angry aliens come to kick our butts, I expect them to have a measurement system that makes sense, is uniform throughout their scary armada, and that is based on the number 10. Anything less, and I'd feel cheated by the intergalactic invaders. I mean, we got beat by guys without a standard measurement system? That's bubkiss.

See, the blue aliens and green aliens on the ship are going to get along great. And they're gonna have the same measurement system. They're not going to be flying any of their probes into the moon on accident cause they're measurement system sucks. They're an elite fighting machine, and their grandma uses the same measurements.

And here we are. Are we going to be able to compete with the alien scum's elite synchronized measurements? Are we going to be fighting them away from our barbecued meat with yard sticks, or with meter sticks? When the time comes, will we be ready to rise up and defy our alien overlords, and with fire in our eyes, declare that no, they'll never ingest our pasty white 68 kilogram bodies? Will we be victorious, or will we be defeated by the culture who didn't care about grandma in her lexus, the culture that changed the roadsigns anyways, the culture that smells funny and has goo all over them?

It starts here. I'm preparing now to kick those crazy moonjerks out of here. When they get here, I'm going to be using metrics. And I'm gonna pick up my meter long stick, and wail on them until they can be wailed upon no more.

I'm not going to wait for them to start teaching it in public schools. I'm not going to wait for them to change the roadsigns. I'm not going to have them forcefeed it to me. The stand starts now.

As of now, I'm converting to metrics. There will be people that tell me it's hopeless. People that tell me I'm a fool for driving 48 kilometers per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. People that tell me a 5k is too far to run, that 3 miles will suffice. You know what I say to those people? Get out of there, you sick alien parasites. Burrow out of their spinal columns, and give me my friends back.

So that's it. I'm on metrics. I weigh 68 kg, and I'm 183 centimeters tall. I run 1600 meters in 5 minutes, 2 seconds. I got 10 frisbees in the mail, each weighing 175 grams. Life is good, and those aliens don't stand a chance.

Really, we can't wait for metrics to jump upon us. We all want it, we all know that it's what must happen. Nobody in their right mind thinks that we can preserve this blasted english system for too much longer. Nobody, nobody but the cosmic spies, trying to keep us in ignorance.

But if we're going to convert, we've got to do it now. We're the solution. Not our children, not our parents, but us. It's me, and it's you. The greatest generation didn't pull it off, so we've got to. We don't need world war II to make us feel cool, we just need metrics.

So here it starts. With me. Nobody is feeding this to me, it's my choice. The metric rebellion is upon us. Who's with me?

The project: 100% metric use this coming week. No more English for me. When I drive, I'm gonna drive in metrics. When I talk about stuff, it's in metrics. When I run, I run in kilometers. When I drink milk, I drink in liters. I'm sticking it to the man, join me.

You know, there are 3 other blogs that I frequent. Nick's, Jaron's, and Marissa's. All of their URL's start with an F. Which brings me to my next point. Me, Nick, and Jaron are not all that similar.

I mean sure, we all poop. Everybody poops. we've got all that human stuff that makes us 99.9% similar to one another. I've written about it before. But really, take away the poop, and we're not that similar. I like both those guys, they're way cool, but we're way different. Not to mention, my URL starts with a C.

Marissa is a girl, and we're pretty different too. We're all unique, bring something different to the table. There are lots of people with blogs, and way too few people that write in their blogs. They come and they go. What's the point? I don't know.

Ya know, a few days ago I called to memory something that I had said ages ago. Way back in the day, before I started talking about 'back in the day.' This was the real day, probably when I was 6 or 7.

We were going through a carwash, one of the cool automated ones. I thought it was way cool, what with the spraying, and the brushes, and the haven glaven.

So, I said to my mom, "When I've got a car, I'm gonna go through one of these with all the windows down. That'll be cool."

So mom says to me, "Haha, by then you'll care alot more about the interior of your car. I bet you won't."

She left me with two questions in my head that day. Number one, what the crap is an interior? Number two, will I really change my mind?

Here I am, 16 years old, I've got a license, and I'm insured. I can drive. I don't have a car, but I can sure drive to and from cross country. I will never drive through a car wash with all the windows down, I care way too much about the interior of the car. Mom was right.

The trouble is, way back in the day, I really meant it. I really did, I wanted to do it, and I thought I would. The 7 yeard old version of me said it, and he meant it. Over the years, I've changed. Looking back, I think that I was an idiot for wanting that. I'm different, but the 7 year old me is still the same. He still said it, and he still meant it.

Case in point: We're going to change. I look back to stuff I wrote a year ago, and I'm way different. I think that some of the stuff that I said was totally ridiculous. I think I was an idiot.

But the truth remins, I meant it. That was me. Pure, unfiltered me. It's not the same me as it is now, but it was me.

So here I stand, saying this all today. This is me. 16 year old me, and I mean every word of it. When I look back on this in a year, I want the 17 year old version of me to know loud and clear that this is what I really mean. This is what I want to say, this is what I think. You might think I'm crazy, you might think I'm dumb. You know what older me? You better run faster than me, or I'm coming for you. If you don't throw a frisbee farther than me, you're in trouble. If your kidneys hurt, you're an idiot. Old me, you better not be lame. You better have a job by now. Old me, you're on metrics. That's not even a question. Old me, this post is what now me really thinks and really feels. Now me says hello, how's the future?

This is really me, this is what I mean. As I change, I'll think that parts of this post are ridiculous. But for now, this is really me. That's the best that I can do.

Hmm, the winds of change are blowing. Sorta like Canada blows, but more in my direction. I think I'm ready to stop repeating lines from previous entries, and start being alot more social. Yup, I don't think I'm tired of girls anymore. Nah, I don't 'like' anybody, but I think I'm ready to consider the possibilities. It'd be nice to have a reason to do my hair in the mornings.

So, quick review:
1) My van is still ugly, despite my best efforts
2) The scout troop needs to start ordering ridelin in bulk
3) Aliens are coming, and the blue ones and green ones get along
4) I'm gonna smack an alien with a meter stick.
5) They're gonna eat you unless you join my frisbee club and use the metric system
6) Me and Nick, we're tight, but I'm not Nick, and he's not me, and that's ok.
7) I mean this stuff, at least I do tonight. Maybe I won't mean it tomorrow, but for tonight, this is pure.
8) I'm not afraid of girls. If ever there was a time to flirt with me, it'd be now.

And so there you have it. Good times, good times indeed. I got 10 frisbees in the mail on friday. That enbiggens my frisbee count considerably. I now have 12 functional. 11 of them are 175, 1 of them is 185 and lit. Wheels are in motion, cogs are turning. I'm 183 centimeters tall, and I'm loving it. I'll cya'll later.

Tribal

Ah, good times. It's been what, 3 weeks or summer? Still no job. I'm honestly ready to consign myself to my fate and go work for harmons. Yay for 5.25 an hour. So, we'll see what happens. Still waiting for someone to come knock and my door and tell me they want to pay me to sleep and play frisbee.

But things have been going good. Aside from not accomplishing anything, I've been having fun. We ran 9 miles the other day for cross country. That was insane, but I enjoyed it. It was sorta hard, because I don't think the whole team was ready for it, but we did alright. I didn't really run tonight, but I got a tiny bit in playing some capture the flag. What can I say, I'm a slacker.

I've determined that I need to carry a purse, or maybe a fanny pack. Every time I go outside I say to myself, "Dangit, I should have brought my frisbee." or maybe, "Dangit, I should have brought my spikes." I always need something that I don't have. That's it. I'm carrying a purse.

I've discovered something that I think is very clever. Eating chocolate chips straight out of the bag is a very enjoyable and economical way to eat chocolate. You've got to get the semi-sweet milk chocolate ones, but if you can handle that you're set. Hear me out here.

First off, a bag of chocolate chips is pretty cheap at maceys. You've gotta get maceys brand, but they're good. Then, you've got a huge amount of chocolate that you can share with as many people as you'd like, or eat all to yourself. It tastes just like a hersheys bar, but there's more of it, and it's cheap. Per ounce of chocolate, it's a killer deal. That's what I'm gonna do from now on. Walk around with a bag of chocolate chips. I'm thrifty, who needs candy bars.

My awesome box of 10 frisbees should get here friday. Really slow shipping, but that's alright, it's gonna be worth it. 10 frisbees. Who do you know that owns 10 frisbees? Nobody, nobody except me.

You know, I miss mystery blank. I'm not even sure who it was, where they were from. I don't know if it was a guy or a girl. But for some reason they stopped leaving cool comments. Where'd they go? I really hope it was a girl, that'd be a lot cooler than having a guy leaving me cool comments saying that I make them smile. But oh well, I was making somebody smile, and now they've left. Where oh where did you go mystery blank? I miss my mystery blank.

I've discovered something about myself in the past few months. I really love thinking of ideas and stuff, but I don't really like the execution. for example, Stephanie wants me and Andrew to build her a reading loft for her classroom. It's going to be this two leveled reading paradise for her kindergartners. It's going to be really pimp, I'm excited. Me and Andrew are both really nerdy, so we thought of all sorts of cool ways to maximize support and all this other junk. We had a blast planning it, there's something about that that just appeals to my brain.

So, we have this awesome plan. We've got to build it later. That's a bummer.

Is anybody else like that? I love the nerdy problems that I've got to solve. I want to build all sorts of awesome stuff, but I don't really wanna do it. I just wanna dream about it. It's easier that way, and I can stay in my comfy chair.

What's the deal with frisbee anyways? I'm torn. half of me wants to get everybody to show up, so we can teach everybody how to play and have a fun social event. The other half of me wants 16 people there. 7 on 7, with one sub on each team. That half wants a real tough game, evenly matched, fight to the death. The fluffy side of me wants a bunch of people sitting on the hill watching, people tossing a frisbee on the spare field, and a more relaxed game. I don't know who to be loyal to. The intense game is more fun for me, that's for sure, but that doesn't exactly promote my frisbee agenda. How can I expect to have everybody playing frisbee if only 16 people know how to play? So what should I do? I'm not sure yet. I don't even know if we're playing frisbee this Friday. Last time was sorta bunk. It's not the same without Brad. I played like trash, and we had way too many people. I don't know. Once school starts, it's going to be better though. We're gonna have clinics, teach everybody to play. We're gonna teach the classic, the forehand, and maybe even a little hammer. We're going to mold a whole new generation of frisbee studs. We're gonna run a mile before every clinic, it's going to be amazing. In my head, this looks like it makes so much sense. Everybody's gonna be fiercely loyal to the club. It's gonna be like a dream, 20 or so people in gym shorts, listening to what I tell them to do. People mastering the forehand left and right, people using the pancake approach instead of the football approach. People finding true joy and health through frisbee and that mile I make them run.

The truth is, it can't end up that awesome. But hey, maybe we'll come close. I could do a clinic every gold day after school. We just need people to be interested. I can teach frisbee, I've done it before. We've got materials, we've got enough frisbees. We could pull it off, we just need the loyal support.

In related news, Steph said that I could come to her class one day next year and teach her kids some frisbee skills for PE. It's going to be awesome, a bunch of kindergartners trying to forearm. Score it!

I feel old. I don't like loud music. I always listen to my music real quiet. Maybe it's so I don't bother people, maybe loud music just makes me uncomfortable. I like quiet music, what can I say. I do like music though, it's got crazy skills that I don't.

Whoohoo, I found my digimon cards from years past. They remind me of good times back in the day. Say what you want, that was a cool show. It owned pokemon. It was interesting, and had alot of cool elements. Ah, good times back in the day, with my cousin scott before he went crazy. We'd get together to watch it, and if we missed it we'd be sure to have it taped. It was professional, good show.

My predictions for the NBA finals: The Heat are going to win game 6 in overtime, taking the championship. Take that Mavericks.

In the meantime, I want a junior bacon cheeseburger with some water please.

9 out of 10 dentists agree

11:41: "Why are things the way they are? Why, because if they were any other way, we would be asking ourselves why they are the way that they are, totally ignorant of the fact that things aren't the way that they are in the world where they're not different."

So, sorry bout all the disjointedness going around this place. I really haven't been able to sit down and write a long one in a while. I could make an analogy here that kyle would absolutely love, but since he never reads this I shall refrain. Maybe when I'm a little healthier the posts will come out a little sturdier.

I sure hope nobody got that.

Anywhom, the winds of change are sure blowing. Sorta like soccer blows, cept a little more towards me.

The job hunt is still going strong. The sad fact is I've only applied at one place. Still looking though. I'll keep you posted. If anybody wants to pay me to run, or play warcraft, give me a call.

Well, I could write a really long post, then change it to a really short post, but I don't think I'll do that. *cough*

I'm not gonna lie to you, I sorta miss Nick trying to trick me into getting to work on a project or something.

Hey guys, look at me, I'm nick.

"Get to work. Rarrr."

Alright, I guess that's good for now. Something real is coming soon. Yeah. Something good.

Glasses

Here's the trouble. Here we are, right now, and we can only think from where we are now. We can think back to the past, and forward to the future, but we can only think from here. We cant step back to 5 years ago and think forward to the future. Nope, we're stuck thinking from this frame of reference.

So, let's say that hypothetically I needed to make a choice about what to do next saturday. Here I am, tired, my feet hurt, and I don't want to go outside ever again. I know that tomorrow that'll change, but I can't think from tomorrow, I'm thinking from right now.

So I'm wearing today's glasses. Some days they're happy go lucky glasses, and other days they're not. That's trouble. Cause we make decisions that have an impact for a very long period of time, based on how we feel today. Today's glasses could mess me up, I tell you what.

Summertime

I don't know about this whole summer business. It's a whole lot less structured than the rest of the year. I really like structure. I'm terribly terribly hungry.

There's a post in here, but it's pretty late. I could write, or I could stay quiet. It looks like for now I'm keeping quiet. Maybe something good will come in the future. Something from the golden age. It's been a while since I've written anything good. Tomorrow ought to be good. I got my license today. Too bad I can't use it. Alrighty, I'm out of here, g'night.

Quickstrike

It's coming.

So, this one's going to be quick, it's 12:50, and I gotta go running in 6 hours and 10 minutes. I haven't been seriously running for 8 days now, and that's really been lame. I feel like it's been weeks, and like I'm getting all weak and atrophy and whatever. It's not even good, but tomorrow ought to be great. I'm going to go out there and do good. I bailed out running monday morning because I felt sick, but it was really because of my throat. Since I've been home from PLC, my throat has been hurting like mad. It's not like the strep throat sort of hurting, this is more mechanical. It's really hard to explain, because it's not a sharp pain, but swallowing really hurts. I hate swallowing, so I'm all dehydrated these days, and not very hungry.

Oh well, it'll heal. My working theory is that I burnt it to oblivion on the raging hot chocolate of death that they gave us up at PLC. It was raining and hailing and terribly cold, so they were always serving up some grade A hot chocolate from the mess hall. That was great, and after the first day your whole mouth was burnt, so you didn't mind how hot it was. Well, apparently your throat minds the week after. It's bad news, but it might get better soon. I sure hope so, it hurts.

Yay, my brother is back from New Jersey! Hooray. He's a stallion, and it's great to have him back. I'll see if I can get some pictures up soon. If everything works out, he's gonna come play frisbee friday, so it'll be pimp. Tip top.

I really do need a job. I spent a ton of time today playing warcraft, it was bad news. I spent more time today playing than I have in ages. Goodbye productivity.

Oh snap! is tomorrow flag day?! That means I have to put up flags. Bad news! Terrible news in fact. Because everybody that's usually in charge is out of town. My dad was supposed to be in charge, but I guarantee he forgot. It's 1 in the morning, I can't call everybody to remind them now. Pops is asleep. I'll have to wake him up at 6, get my flags done, then go run. Dangit, that bites. poop.

Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do. We signed up for it I guess.

So, what else? I'm using the Windows Vista Beta. Despite Nick's scathing review without ever having used the product, I really do like it. It definitely runs slower on my machine, but that's just because it's higher end. Graphically it's pretty sweet, and it's got some cool functionalities that I like. It's got a few quirks that are obnoxious, but you can turn all of those off. Overall I've been impressed with the quality. The general flashiness of it reminds you a little of a mac, but that's basically the only similiarity. You can do the whole desktop gadgets *cough widgets cough* thing, but I just turned those off. I like it, I haven't gotten down to doing too much business with it, but what I've done so far is nice. So hey, give me a free operating system for a year, and I'll take it.

Frisbee on friday. Anyone within earshot is invited. It's going to be amazing. Hopefully I'll get some pictures and throw them up. I need a camera. I'm inheriting a nice digital video camera in a month or so, but I still want a regular one. It's gonna be pimp though, good times.

The whole, frisbee empire plan is still proceeding great. We're going to have alot of fun. My frisbees should arrive next week or something. I'm gonna start planning out lessons or something. We're going to get a ton of people trained to be elite frisbee ninjas, so everybody will have a chance to enjoy the greatness. When we start next year, we're not going to be looking for people with skills already. I've found that very few people really start out with frisbee skills. Some do, but that's rare. It's usually just a bunch of athletic skill that can carry over to frisbee. I learned all the stuff I know from the cool DVD's that they include with the frisbees. I have no idea how anyone learned to forehand without them.

That's what I'm here for though. To take a bunch of country bumpkins that want to play frisbee, and teach them to forehand. Then we'll have a bunch of ninjas to play frisbee with every friday night. And, ya know, if a tournament rolls around, we can hop in and kick some butt. Or, if some other schools have clubs, we can have a little bit of fun there too. Either way, it's going to be good. It's going to be a good organization, if everything goes according to plan.

As a whole, life is pretty good. Once I start running, life is going to be even better. Once friday rolls along and I get to play frisbee again, life is going to be nearly perfect. See, I'm an easy guy to please. Everybody these days thinks they need a girlfriend. They write songs about girls, they write long posts about love, they increase their baking skills to woo the ladies. Ya know, if a lady happens to fall into my life, whoohoo. But really, give me 13 other people who know how to throw a frisbee, a good field, and a calm summer evening, and I'll be happy. I don't need the drama, I don't need somebody to tell me that I'm a studmuffin. I just need that filling power of gyroscopic intertia to keep me going.

And now it's time for me to write my obligatory post about love. Everybody's doing it.

What is love? Love is second to frisbee.

Dang straight, g'night all. Remember to put your flags up. And come to frisbee on Friday. And find me a job. Score.

Returned

I am returned. Let the insanity end.

I leave for 4 days, and I come back to madness. Jason Liu started a blog, we got rid of our big stick pile in the back yard, Nathan is engaged, and Microsoft is letting people download the vista beta. It's insanity, truly it is.

However, all that stuff is good news really, so I'm happy about it. The camp was really really awesome. It was not happy sunshine all the time though. For some of it I was just irritated, but I still learned a ton, and that's what it was about. I learned alot of really cool stuff that I'm going to apply. It was like a leadership training deal, and I really picked up alot of useful stuff. It's going to be good, I'm gonna go places.

But really, I don't wanna go too far into what happened, but here's some of the cool tidbits.

"Through adversity to the stars" -told by Al Cannaday

"Go big or go home." -told by Nate Burgess

"Who do you follow, and why?" -man in the orange jacket with the dog

"Bad habits are easy to form, hard to live with. Good habits are hard to form, and easy to live with." -Earl the Ax

"If you've never been frog kissin', then you don't know what you're missin'."

It really was a good experience. We had alot of fun, and learned alot. We also had alot of rain. It was dangerous business, we had hail up the wazoo, and that's a terrible place for hail.

Part of the deal was that we had to write a "flight plan," or 5 big goals you can accomplish in the next 3 to 6 months or so. I'm not very good at setting goals, but I definitely went for this one. Here goes.

1. Finish the personal management, swimming, and family life merit badges in the next 3 months.

2. Go to every cross country practice I can this summer.

3. Update my blog once a week for the next 3 months.

4. Go home teaching greater than or equal to 80 perfecnt for the next 6 months.

5. Get my eagle project done by the end of summer.

I can totally do it, I've just got to work hard. I'm excited for the future. I really wanna get my eagle taken care of. I've waited long enough, it's time to just buckle down and get it done. After all, I can drive once that's taken care of.

In other news, I have a really mean neckbeard. I haven't shaved for a long time, and it's just getting awesome. It's the best neckbeard I've ever had. For reals, it's mean looking. I love it so.

Frisbee is coming along great. I'm going to start working on project empire this next week, good things are on the horizon, you will see.

What to talk about? this is going to be different from my normal style, but tonight we talk about net neutrality.

~

The internet is big, we all know it. It is basically a giant network, where people from wherever can access data that is hosted wherever else. We're all connected. The problem that the country is now facing is the way in which we are connected.

Some of you might have been keeping up with the troubles going on in the recent weeks, but for those who haven't, here's the lowdown. Big communication companies are lobbying the legislature to pass a bill that will let them have a lot tighter rein on the internet. You think to yourself, "But that's impossible! The internet isn't some single object that can be held, it's the conglomerate of all the data hosted by everyone everywhere, it's giant, it's distributed, no one can control it!" This in a way is very true, you can't really stop up. The problem though, is that these big communcation companies control the pipes that we get our data through, and they're tired of being the nice guys.

Basically, the lines that our data travels through are owned by somebody. Let's just say that Bell owns this big ugly line that goes from Utah to Vermont. I get online one day and say "Hey, I want to get a file from gamespy. I go to the site, find the file, and go to download it, for free. My computer sends a request through the big line to the server in vermont to send that file over. The server in vermont then sends the data through this big ugly line to my computer.

This takes up something called bandwidth, it's sorta like the physical resources that data takes as it gets sent across lines. You can only throw so much current through a wire before it won't take any more. It's the same idea with data, since it's all ones and zeros.

So, Bell was previously just letting me do that just fine and dandy. Now, they want to start controlling their lines a little better. They're taking a big hit when I get a huge video file from vermont, that's alot of band width. It takes alot of resources. Basically, what they're trying to do is make it so if I want that video file fast, I'm going to have to pay.

If their crazy plan works, they can start tolling their lines. People who pay will get more bandwidth, will be able to download faster. People unwilling to pay will have to wait in long lines, and have very restricted bandwidth. This sucks if you're trying to get that big video file. Eventually, things could get even more out of hand. Say I want to check that blog from the phillipines. I gotta get data from over there. The big company in the Philipines payed the money to the big communications company, so they've got all sorts of bandwidth, people can come and visit their site as they please, they've got all they need. But, this poor blogger doesn't have money to buy bandwidth, so getting to his site takes forever, if it's even possible. Do you see the problem here?

It would take away the great equality of the internet. Here, I can say whatever I want and nobody can stop me. Bill Gates can't do anything more than me. He can say what he wants. But, in this new, scary world that might happen, Bill Gates could say what he wants, and I couldn't. Because I couldn't pay the price, nobody would see this. Bandwidth, curse you.

So that's what's happening. It could mean the end of the internet as we know it. But really, it won't. It's being voted on sometime soon, very soon in fact. I'll try to find more information. I was going to write my solution to the whole problem, but I've lost the desire to write, so I'll do some more tomorrow or something. Yay for getting tired all the sudden.

So, moral of the story is, there's big powers at play all around you. The important thing is to keep doing your best, and things will work out. Alrighty folks, g'night.

troubador

There's a post inside, but there's no time. Suffice it to say it would be very uncharacteristic, and I'd want to erase it by morning. I'm going to be gone till saturday afternoon, so the date project has been postponed till next week. If someone would be kind enough to tell Autumn, that'd be awesome, as I haven't got in touch with her yet.

So really guys, I'm going to bed. I'll be back saturday. Have a good one everybody, cya later.

New name, same great taste

Good evening and welcome to the post. It's 5:06, and I'm in my pajamas. Haven't showered for 2 days now. I do smell funny, but there's nobody around to complain. Score it.

I do have an excuse for the pajama thing. I've been planning on going running today, I just haven't gotten there yet. Nobody wants to get all prettied up and then go running, you'll sweat all over the place. Therefore, I'm still here, thinking I might go running once this is finished up. I sure hope so.

This week has been good, it's been a grand adventure really. School sorta just rolled over and died, and in it's place came Ultimate Frisbee on the seminary field. I played ultimate tuesday, wednesday, thursday, and friday. Every school day was at least 25% frisbee, it was pretty awesome. It wasn't the best playing I've ever done, but I was having alot of fun. We had a ton of people show up, things are looking good for the empire next year.

Friday night was Brad Wither's final frisbee friday. Last summer we played frisbee every single friday night. Things sorta went on hiatus during the school year, but frisbee friday made a triumphant return once the college boys got out of school. Things have been great this past month or so. Frisbee every friday, without fail. You don't have to worry about what you're going to do friday night, you already know. It's a standing appointment, you've got a date with frisbee.

Well, Brad is going on a mission, he enters the MTC wednesday I believe. That means that last night would be his final frisbee friday. Now, alot of you don't know brad, but in his day he was even more into this whole frisbee bit than I am now. He carried a frisbee everywhere he went, he rallied people to come play, he was all over it. He's the frisbee champion of the world.

So, frisbee friday was set for Friday night, from 7 to 12. It was going to be an event to remember. It turned out super great, everybody showed up to pay their respects. At one point, we had 24 players, so we split into 2 seperate games again. It was some high quality frisbee. We ended up playing from about 7:45 to 12:45 AM. We had breaks of course, but we probably got in a good 4 hours of play time. It was so great. The weather turned out absolutely perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, no wind except for a slight breeze to keep us comfortable.

Halfway through the evening I busted out my trombone, and after Andrew called everyone to attention, we officially retired brad for two years by playing him some taps. It was pretty dramatic.

What are we going to do without brad to rally us all for frisbee friday? I don't know yet, but someone else will rise up. The old guard will remain for a couple more months before they all step out, one by one to go serve. What happens then? A new leader has got to show up. I sure hope it's me.

At least, that's my plan for now.

In other news, my amazing summer job, the great money-maker, the ultimate muscle-builder, the amazing humbler, has fallen through on me. We didn't get the job this year. I really was expecting to get it, and now I'm not sure what's going to happen. I am not sure whether I want to go find another job or not. Things are going to be busy with cross country this year, I don't want to risk that for a stupid job. Then again, money is a nice thing, and I'm not sure that I've got enough saved up to last through the long hard winter that is the school year. We'll have to see. If anybody knows anywhere that is hiring, let me know, I may or may not be interested.

Oh, before you all blow up my mailbox, I was joking with that whole "what a bunch of moochers" thing last time. I think girls are cool. so... don't kill me.

I definitely got the coolest cake ever yesterday. It's second only to the ninja turtle cake my mom made Andrew. But wow, it's got 12 layers, and it's a diabetic coma waiting to happen. Mm mm good.

Cross country workouts start monday morning at 7 O'clock. I'm so excited. It's going to be so great. If anybody is interested, just show up. We're gonna run, and then do some weights. I'm gonna be in such killer shape, you've got no idea. I'll be a raging machine.

Oh snap, I've got a date with Autumn someday soon. I'm supposed to plan something, but really, I got nothing. So I'm working on that. If anybody wants to do that whole group thing, leave a comment, it's gonna be good.

One day I'm going to be able to do a backflip on the trampoline. Right now I can't, and that makes me sad inside. A rather curious gentleman asked me to do a backflip yesterday, and I couldn't do it. I embarassed myself infront of two people I hold dear, Hope, and my random neighbor's friend I met yesterday. This will have to change.

This room definitely has a different writing style than the computer library did. I'm alot more conscious of what's going on on the monitor. Looking back it seems like it used to be some dream stage where I wrote but didn't know I was writing. These days it's forced, hmm.

You know what I admire? A good farmer's tan.

I'm really excited for this summer. I'm excited for everything. I don't know exactly how it's all going to work out, but I'm going to get my eagle soon. I'm really going to follow through with the frisbee empire next year. Mama withers is going to be our faculty sponsor or whatever, it's all lined up, it's going to be great.

Oh man, I can smell somebody's BBQ through the window. That's cruel. Birds have build a huge nest in our barbecue, and so we're a little torn between the prospect of killing birds, or not having any barbecue this whole summer. I mean really, who just builds a nest in my barbecue? That's not something you do.

I'm pretty sure there's something very upset that is growing out of my big toe. It's no fun.

I changed the title of the blog, I was getting tired of the old one. I actually made the old one when I was pretty angry at the world one day, so it didn't really portray what I wanted. I changed it, and now it doesn't make too much sense, except that I want to run 1000 miles in CC this year. The goal the team is giving us all is 750, but I've got to beat that. Just because.

Speaking of which, I'm out to go running. It's going to be good, I'm excited. it's nice weather out there. You should all go running too, and join the cross country team. Yeah, go for it.

So yeah, I'm out of here. Drop me a comment about that date thing if anybody is interested, it's going to be fun. Who wouldn't want to go on a date with me and autumn? Honestly.
